Springfield Sparkles baby and toddler group provides a happy friendly atmosphere for parents and carers with children from birth to 4 years of age. We are very fortunate to have a good size indoor space along with our walled garden and large outdoor play area.

Our sessions run on Wednesday mornings, 9.30 am until 11.00 am, term time only. The cost is £4 per child and £1 per additional child (this includes drinks and snacks).  From September 2016 the session will move to Thursday mornings.

During these sessions we include craft activities, free play with sand and water (indoors and outdoors). Music sessions which are led by our qualified music teacher, when the children have an opportunity to explore and experiment with a variety of musical instruments.

Snack time includes a variety of healthy fruit and vegetables, and is always very popular with both children and parents/carers. Tea, coffee and squash are also available; however, we would appreciate it if you could supply your child with his or her own tippy cup.

The craft activities vary from week to week, covering topical themes and events. Having fun and learning to play within a happy, safe, and welcoming environment is our main aim so please feel free to join in and have some fun.

We do provide aprons for messy play. However, old clothes would be advisable. Please bring waterproofs and wellies so that the children can make full use of our outdoor space.

The session ends with a story time which will help to encourage your child to improve their listening skills and attention span, for this reason I would ask that you encourage your child/ children to join the group and refrain from talking loudly during the story, thank you.

We would like to ask for your permission to take photographs during our sessions. These may on occasion be used for our displays/website and school prospectus. If you do not wish your child to be photographed could you please make this fact known to Jo, Cathy or Diane.

We would like to wish you a very enjoyable time with us and hope you will feel free to put forward any ideas or special requests for future sessions.

Health and Safety

We do ask that both adults and children are signed in, due to health and safety requirements and to enable us to maintain a register of attendance. For safety reasons we feel the need to limit the numbers to a maximum of 32 therefore we may have to introduce a waiting list and prior booking format. If you are not able to attend each week, could you please inform Diane Bennett or Emma Bentley-Hughes. This will enable us to continue to maintain our maximum numbers and our quality of care. We will ask you to complete a registration form which will remain confidential and only be used for correspondence and in the case of an emergency.

Nappy changing facilities are available by the adult’s toilet where a grey nappy disposable bin is also provided.

Please can you keep any valuables on your person at all times, the school can not take responsibility for items that may go missing from the school premises, thank you for your cooperation.

Many thanks
